Northampton to play in Championship 1 from 2013.

Its certainly going to be intereating in the Championship 1 from 2013 with other new clubs joining the Division then as well.

They certainly look like they got the set up from what i've read.
My only worry is that by puting in that division with very little knowledge in the area will the crowds come? Also not overly sure that putting 4 completly new sides in at once will work.
Its a brave move, one that i hope does work, just not sure it will.

Northampton Demons? Do me a favour...they'll be gone within 5 years

I'm sure that if they go at a pace they are comfortable at they will be around for years. We don't want another Crusaders scenario who were pushed far to early to get the into Super League. Its not going to be easy for them or the other 3 clubs that will join them, but year on year progress should see all 4 new clubs establish themselves and grow.

Northampton are obvisously one of the four new teams from outside the heartlands who will be playing in Championship 1 in 2013. Bristol are another team who are expected to be admitted to Championship 1 as well. Expect annoucements over the next few months.

Ah ok cheers!!! Wonder where they'll play if Bristol get one, Ashton Gate's going soon and 2 teams are already at the Memorial Stadium!

Very interesting that this side has such a direct link to the football club. It could just be the case there is a real interest but I wonder is there more to it than that?

Obviously Northampton, from what i've read/remember the other 3 will come from, Bristol, Kent, Oxford, Hemel Hempstead, Coventry, Milton Keynes andd a couple of others i can't remember at the moment, sorry.
Next season they going to promote 4 teams up to the championship and the 4 chosen will replace them.

Chester was another option I believe.

Congratulations to Hemel Hempstead for joining Northampton in next years championship 1. Fully deserved for a club thats been around for 30 years. Hopefully this will strengthen RL in an area that it is already doing well in.
So thats 2 down, 2 more to go.
