Problems with rugby?

Listening to 5 live this morning I heard Nicky Campbell talking to the director of the rubgy league world cup and one of the presenters asked 'with the problems in rugby union do you think you could (as a sport) poach a few fans?'. I have read that rugby union is in crisis in a number of papers and the Rugby Paper on Sunday seemed as though the whole rugby union world was collapsing and caving in on itself.

Just for clarity and in case any of these media types are reading it's not rugby union the sport that has a problem, it's The Rugby Union, the organisation.

I don't usually care about gripes about papers having national bias and things like that but when they start besmirtching my game it really gets on my nerves.
