First topic message reminder :

After todays thread on Steffan's Shed 7 tickets, I'm running a 606v2 Boxing 'Best Song of All Time Thread'.

Much like Union (without the cheating and favouritism), you all get your picks. It ends on Sunday midnight. I'll then do a top 10 poll.

I am, but in that case it's more for the chiming melodies of John Squire's guitar work. One of the best there's been for me.

Stone Roses are a bit over-rated as far as I'm concerned. Not awful by any stretch; in fact they're not bad at all, but they're no Faith No More...

Not a fan? Faith No More are an outstanding band with possibly the best vocalist of modern times!!

Just not a big rock fan generally Balti, the likes of them and the Chilli Peppers particularly leave me cold. Went to see the Chillis a few years ago and was one of the worst gigs I have ever been to, one bass or drum solo is one too many for me so every song being accompanied by one of each drove me insane, you're all good musicians, we get it now any chance you can just play the songs. Self indulgent drivel, what this has to do with Faith no More I am not sure but feel better for sharing.

Is there any band you haven't been to see rovvley? Other than Queen and Dire Straits of course.

I've been a big Kinks fan since I was a kid and far prefer them to Dylan. In saying that I see Dylan as being in a league of his own as a songwriter.

I had a mental block to Dylan as a teenager as I didn't like hippys. 10 odd years ago a friend gave me the Dylan album Highway 61 Revisted and listening to it I thought it was really great.

Dylan the character doesn't appeal to me though.

I have highlighted a weakness in Knopfler's song writing abilities though. Even the biggest DIY mug knows you don't 'install' microwave ovens. It's not as if they need any plumbing and what not. You simply put them on a shelf and plug them in.

I can't believe people haven't pointed this crass error out to him.
