Bournemouth have given two-and-a-half-year deals to caretaker boss Lee Bradbury and assistant Steve Fletcher.

Bradbury, 35, took temporary charge of the Cherries when Eddie Howe left to manage Burnley this month.

"We're really pleased to be appointed on a permanent basis," he told BBC Radio Solent. "I'm looking forward to getting stuck in and giving it 100%."

The 35-year-old, who has now retired as a player, took charge of his first game against Rochdale on 18 January.

"We've had backing from the chairman behind the scenes, and now we want to finish what we've started and try to get promoted," Bradbury added.

It has also been announced that 38-year-old club captain Fletcher will continue playing.

"Fletch has been a really big help and, on the playing side, remains a big threat," Bradbury said.

"With the team we've got, we have the best chance of being successful."
