Frank Warren Announcement!!
Hey lads!!
A friend has just got word that Frank Warren has called a Press Conference for all his fighters to attend in London.
Rumour has it, its going to be an annoucement that he will be withdrawing all his future fights from Sky and moving to BoxNation (Channel: 456 of Sky Platform).
More to follow......

I must say that flat, two dimensional, monotonous and silly characters get on my nerves, too.
That's why tysonking was never destined to last long here.

Thank you very much, Seanus. Good to still be here.
Nice, subtle one from eddy, wasn't it ? I believe he was swiping at jeff, though. Either way, he's a cheeky sod.

I believe everybody else does, too, Seanus. Funny thing is that our esteemed Colonial Lion has the best part of a decade on me. Joe Louis was still heavy champ when he was born.

It would be strange to see him leave Sky with their means to advertise a fight.

Frank Warren officially announced his retirement from Boxing promotion...
I can only dream.
He still needs the PPV money to pay for Calzaghes legal wrangling. That means more PPV farces on Boxnation probably. Oddly enough, when I type Boxnation on my phone the predictive text pulls up Donation!

This is a little exciting, not quite sure how it's going to work but i'm sure Warren has it planned out, what's Sky's stance i wonder.

His two sons are heavily involved now so it could be something they have came up with. The thing is though if it is boxnation it will become a monthly subscription channel.

Yeah i don't think he can just show them of that channel for free, that would be disappointing actually depending on the fee.

Re: Frank Warren Announcement!!
If you go to channel 456 you'll notice that they are showing highlights of Warren fighters every evening all week. Coincidence? Seems like Fwank is defecting to BoxNation - presumably because of Sky's withdrawal from putting boxing on PPV. No doubt he's looking for a PPV platform - this despite him not having PPV fighters on his books right now (expect more Magnificent 7 type stacked domestic cards to try and put the squeeze on the fans). Between this and the involvement of PrimeTime with GBP in the UK it seems there will soon be hardly any boxing available to us fans for the simple cost of our subscription. This type of thing is yet another nail in the coffin of the sport, personally I'm disgusted and won't shell out a penny for any of Fwanks PPV cards on this channel, just as I refuse to pay for PrineTime.

Nothing being mentioned on twitter and I follow Franks boy and a few of his fighters. A few are their talking to each other on twitter which would suggest they are not all in the same place.
Frank's son Francis was kicking off with someone from boxrec about an article that has since been pulled never got to see the article though.

Frank is going to leave sky then it seems, i just hope it doesn't marginalise his fighters and lead to less exposure to general armchair public. The sport needs it.

I think this may have been a rumour and nothing more. Their is nothing on any reliable site with any info on this.
Twitter is usually a great source and their is nothing. Jane Couch knows nothing about it which would suggest their is nothing to know.

Think that's exactly what it will do. Sky Sports has the platform and marketing power to build a fighter until he's PPV worthy (if such a thing exists). Channels like PrimeTime and BoxNation are looking to capitalise on a quick buck by putting PPV events on but don't have that same platform to build a fighter, and can't deliver a quality product. PrimeTime for example has no free to air cards, no HD and poor quality punditry. I can't imagine how defecting his stable to a small, independent set up like BoxNation is going to benefit fighters such as DeGale, Groves, Cleverly etc long term compared to the exposure they'd benefit from with Sky. If this network does a Setanta will Sky welcome Fwank back with open arms? Unlikely. Warren is the first to moan about lack of loyalty when a fighter deserts him, but this just shows that he's as much of a quick buck chasing mercenary as anyone else in the sport. Ultimately it's the fans and the sport that suffers.

OK Kev, bookmark it and if the announcement turns out to be a defection to BoxNation you'll already have my opinion! (Although you'll probably get it again, I don't need much prompting to moan about this kind of thing).

I wasn't having a pop mate.
I agree with you about the theory on boxnation being monthly subscription it would be terrible for boxing in this country. I think Reeborn made the whole thing up their is nothing out their about this and Warren has a contract with Sky until next summer.

Ha ha - cheapshot! (Floyd - is that you?!)
I'm anything but cheap mate, just a principled man. Shudder to think how much I've spent on boxing PPV's over the years, but Audley v Haye was the last straw. Only do it now for a mega fight - so haye wlad for example got bought, but the likes of Khan v McCloskey can go whistle.
