same here mckay, not least because I've gone for them to win on SG!

Would be a great win for them tbh, and I love the way they're looking to play the game.

I want USA to win this one simply because two Saracens players are starting for them. Chris Wyles being back for USA in this match is a huge boost for them.

Hammer - censored (yet it's so very true....)

mckay - yeah I've read that. Really interesting, and it's great how there's a bit of a boom in the amount of registered rugby players out there. If they can put in really decent performances and get a win here over the USA it will be massive for the game out there.

I think that's the best reason to support another nation. You're supporting your players (Wyles looking good so far). The other is the lock right?

Imagine if the Soviet Union reformed? Georgian forwards and Russian backs. Russian forwards seem to be out-muscled so far.

Anyone know if it's pronounced "Cle-ver" or "Clee-ver". I'm sure after the Irish game they were saying "Clee-ver"

I support Russia because I had a great time there in 1999. They are crazy people and I think Rugby could be really big there if they get some exposure.

Yes HammerofThunor Hayden Smith is the Saracens lock.

Doesn't surprise me about Wyles. He's class.

Someone should complain to Talksport about this. They have been advertising for almost a year that they would be featuring live, exclusive and uninterrupted coverage of every match - yet it seems some games are only online. Seems like misrepresentation to me. Instead we have to listen to "wee mannie Irani" blethering on instead

Clee-ver apparently... not sure why? One of the supporters had a banner with a picture of a meat cleaver.

Why are USA making Wyles kick? It's not surprising he keeps missing. He isn't a kicker.

The consoliation is what when he and Wigglesworth get backs to Sarries we could play about 5 place kickers at the same time!

9.Wigglesworth
10.Hodgson
11,13 or 14.Wyles
12.Farrell
15.Goode

Do Russia have any professional players? I know Armitiev has now signed for Saints but he isn't there yet so won't have benefitted from their training regime.

In terms of fitness you would expect the likes of Wyles,Smith and Nwengya to easily last the full 80 minutes as professionals.

Those guys against tired legs will be tough for Russia. Especially as this is Wyles' first game from his injury layoff so will be fresher.

I expect Wyles or Nwengya will score the next USA try.

It's 9:30am here in the UK - We are at work!

BTW BBC page has now corrected the score back to 10-3 and not 13-3 .. yet it still shows 1 try, conversion and 2 penalties. Well done BBC!

Russia have their own pro league. I guess all of them will be pro. Obviously not the same standard as the Jeff/ML/top14 etc but you'd expect fitness to not be a concern.

They interviewed a guy (don't know his name), on supersport last night, he says becasue of the vast distances they need to travel the clubs do about 11 000 kms to play away games per weekend.

That is tough in anyones book.

Blinkin 'eck. That's Super XV type distances - and SXV schedules the the away games as tours to cut down the number of trips.

Given the horror stories about Russian airliners too ... (a crash recently killed the whole squad of a Moscow ice-hocky team, the team is currently being rebuilt using players volunteering to transfer from other clubs)

The problem as well, it takes two days of travel to get to venues. I suppose the infrastructure has something to do with it as well.

There are only 8 teams in the Russian league and apparently the bottom club frequently gets beaten by 50+ points.

13-3 now pen from Wyles.

I think most teams are either around Moscow or Krasnoyarsk (Siberia). According to the Oracle of Truth (wikipedia) Krasnoyarsk is the unofficial home of Russian Rugby. Although a Moscow side has won the league in the last few years.
