First topic message reminder :
Any of you guys looking foward to the start of the season next week, if you like college football, what teams do you like, I myself follow the wolverines and huskers. But only the huskers have an oppportunity for the big one this year. Cant wait for lsu v oregon on the 3rd at cowboys stadium.

Not unless they make some big mistakes. They have elite college players at every position except maybe wide receiver

I wouldn't want to see Cleveland Browns vs Alabama...crazy_dave23 wrote:Teams are generally much worse overall than any NFL, simply due to the spread of any talent level. This means games often have much higher scores and it also leads to slightly odd offences designed to make the best of what you have got.
Also isn't it the Big East that San Diego State are joining? Quite possibly the most ridiculous choice ever.

I did say "generally" much worse... there are a select few who could run the lower NFL teams close on a regular basis
I knew there was a more extreme example of a team joining the Big East than Houston or Boise and i'm pretty sure is was San Diego State!

I've checked since I wrote that and it is San Diego State joining the Big East as a Football only member.
I wish I had better internet then I may be able to watch some of the college games...

Just seen Marcus Lattimore's injury, absolutely sickening. Poor kid, hope he can recover, second major injury while still so young

If Lattimore recovers from this it will be a miracle.
This is the injuries he sustained yesterday: A broken femur, broken patella, torn ACL, torn MCL, torn PCL, and torn LCL.
Not sure if that is official but that is the rumor doing the rounds

It's not that bad. No breaks of any kind - a hyper extended knee which has buggered up various (unnamed) ligaments.
Willis McGahee is the most similar recent example I can think of and he turned out okay in the end once he hit the pros

Texas A&M just missed TD catch and then FG to take two score lead against unbeaten Alabama. 10 mins to go.

A&M now leading by 12 points with about 8 mins left. Not looking good for Alabama.

Quite a shocking result really. Aggies solidly outplayed the tide and deserved the win.

Florida State. Won over 70 on a sevenfold college bet. And I got it right that Stanford would prevail in a seperate one. If only I bet on a K-State loss too

Re: College Football
I think 1.50 on the sevenfold but not totally sure and only 20p on stanford haha, but still got £1.90. I only started betting on college/cbb/nfl last weekend and have won most bets, long may it continue, all done with the fiver i started with meaning I won't need to add money for a while. I look forward to next week where I have thanksgiving football, college football friday and staurday and then sunday obviously. So many games and perfect opportunity for multipe game bets.

Damn... I was so sad to see this last night when I caught up with all the scores and news etc.
Typical I will die if it's Bama vs Irish in the BCS Game.

I have often wondered if the US Media has bestowed this nickname upon Johnny Manziel so that they don't have to try and pronounce his actual name on air...

Re: College Football
I was watching the NFL Network version of the Rich Eisen Podcast yesterday. They had Eric Stonestreet (Cam from Modern Family) on and dug up an old video from Northwestern of Eric, although a Kansas State alum, showing his "purple pride" in one of his first acting jobs. http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-videos/0ap2000000099554/Actor-Eric-Stonestreet-shows-his-Purple-Pride
If you haven't listened to or watched the whole podcast yet you should, it's a great one. John Elway, Rainn Wilson, John Slattery and Adrian Peterson are on it too.
Also love the Statefarm ad with the little girl telling Rodgers he threw an interception because he didn't double check the safety.

Good game between Alabama and Georgia. Lead yo-yoing back and forth. Georgia have the advantage but Alabama have the ball late in 4th quarter.

Is anyone going to watch the NC game on Monday Night. Really doesn't matter if you haven't watched much cfb this season as this will be a cracker. Two great defenses who are so physical. Williams, Milliner, Mosely, Tuitt, Nix, Te'o etc., doesn't get any better

He was immense! Some of his throws were just amazing, and he has some serious running ability. The 2 offensive tackles gave him a ridiculous amount of room to work with too

Pretty funny read. Looks almost certain Texas will have a new head coach (and probably AD too) next season. Pretty staggering how bad they've been the last few years, considering they're the flagship school in arguably the most important recruiting state.

ESPN is part of the free weekend from BT Sport (on Sky anyway). Tennessee vs Alabama is currently on followed by UCLA vs Oregon.
