Just a bit of fun for people who have easy access to their golf stats.

I've played 71 rounds at my golf club and here are my stats:

Eagles	1	0.08%
Birdies	14	1.1%
Pars	307	24.02%
Bogey	504	39.44%
D. Bogey	246	19.25%
Worse	136	10.64%
No score	70	5.48%

Blimey! Did you record all of therm yourself or does your club have software to do it for you? We use Master scoreboard at my club which does something similar but only competition rounds.

They're only competition rounds, too. You can put personal rounds in, but I have Golfshot for that.

The club's website is integrated with Intelligent Golf, so it's all done automatically. There's lots more info. available, but I didn't want to completely bore everyone

Drive, you seem to struggle on the first. Must be a difficult hole for you to consistently score 11 every round.

I know, and it'll be even worse next year when I start every round with a 12

How do the stats stack up against your handicaps?

I'd have a stab at you're off 15 and 9 respectively

The no score column looks bad as it doesn't take into account that a lot of those are blobs in stablefords.

Need to get my eagle/birdie % up a bit methinks

Assuming NS is a triple bogey (I acknowledge this would not always b ethe case for D4S), my average score would be +22.5ish and D4S' would be +8.5ish. However, D4S' scores are only his 13 scores from this year whereas my scores go back to February 2009 when I joined the club.

My handicap is now 16.5 with my career high of 15.0 being at the start of the year.

Have recorded all my home games since 2006. Have played 125 rounds and currently averaging 81 which is a bit higher than it should be as I play off 8 and the par is 72.

I record FIRs, GIRs, putts, scores for each hole, birdies, pars, bogeys and others(!). Currently have 134 birdies, 1,137 pars, 745 bogeys and 234 others.

I also record is 'my' S.I. and compare that to the course S.I. This shows me that I don't start or end well as my S.I. on holes 1, 2 and 3 and 17 and 18 is higher than the course S.I.

I've got loads more stats if people are interested! I didn't think so; I'll get my anorak................

Where do you play, Humpyd? I'm in Essex too, and play at Crondon.

SJ, I play at Three Rivers.

Better to convert these things into percentages,
I.e 20% Bogeys, 10% birdies, 70% pars.
same to GIR and FW, up/downs, sand saves etc.
whereas Putts Per Green and Putts per Regulation can be measured in decimal
e.g. 1.81.

Dealing with more digestable numbers gives a better idea on how you need to improve, I also record my scores on individual holes and collate each hole so it's easy to see which ones I have a problem on over time, giving me the opportunity to try a new strategy out on the hole.

Interesting thread. I've pulled mine off the Howdidido site and over 50 odd rounds it's

Birdies 5%
Pars 32%
Bogeys 40%
Doubles and worse 23%

This works out (roughly, roughly) as one birdie, 6 pars, 7 bogeys and 4 doubles per round which should make me a 14 but I've been between 9.1 and 9.8 all the time. I guess that when I am having a bad day the big numbers just mount up so quite a few nett 80s but a couple of good rounds have brought me in 67 - 70 to keep the handicap in check!

Need to cut down on the "worse" and NRs. Doubles aren't all bad considering some holes are 2 shotters for me

12 home rounds so far this year (last year in brackets - 16 home rounds):

eagles = 3 = 1.4% (1 = 0.3%)
birdies = 26 = 12.0% (13 = 4.5%)
pars = 92 = 42.6% (119 = 41.3%)
bogeys = 74 = 34.3% (100 = 34.7%)
doubles = 19 = 8.8% (35 = 12.2%)
triples = 2 = 0.9% (20 = 6.9%)

Birdies 6%
Pars 39%
Bogeys 37%
Doubles or more 18%

Given that my handicap is 8.1 it proves what I already know - I'm getting worse at this infuriating game.

merc - yep, off 5 but averaging 6.48 over the css, which is pretty dissapointing - though there were a couple in the 80s in there which didn't help.
