Having received FIFA 17 on release date, i have been pretty addicted to the new addition of The Journey, following the career of Alex Hunter...

Just wondered how many of you have been playing this, and how you are getting on?

Im currently on loan at Newcastle but banging in the goals in the starting 11, my value is up to £6m with 120k twitter followers...

Have they got rid of scripting this year?

My eldest has been on it over the weekend and has nearly completed it now. Hope that they add content going forward in either DLC or his journey continues next year.

How long does it go on for Hero? Is it just a 1 season thing?

FIFA 17 - The Journey Empty Re: FIFA 17 - The Journey

I really want to like this but I just can't. It's so monotonous

The build up promised so much, that your form dictates the story when it really doesn't. 4 goals and 2 assists yet I'm not good enough for the first team yet a player who has scored once is, repeated answers to interview questions (answering questions about scoring in the Premier league when I'm in the championship), the scripted lines saying your dad was a good striker like you even though I'd specifically chosen to be a CAM

There's potential to be built on but I'm not getting the fuss, and knowing the duration now I think I'd just prefer to make my own pro and build him up. At least that way you know you can get him to a decent rating after a couple of seasons

The only reason I'm playing the Journey is to get the Alex Hunter ultimate team card, even though it is a standard crap one they give everyone.

The after match interviews are a bit cringeville but myself and the boys really enjoyed it.

Post by compelling and rich Wed 05 Oct 2016, 7:38 pm

ive just started this, 3 goals two assists in four games even they they kept being me on in centre mid even though im a striker and they still ship my player out on loan. i had already read that happens on here so was expecting it but just shows you there isnt any flexibility.

think ultimately you'd want bits of this linked in with player career mode like the old become a pro. not bad little piece added, bit like fight night champion. and makes a change for them to try something new instead of spawning out the same game every year

compelling and rich

I never got round to finishing this journey, might give it another crack as apparently it continues in Fifa 18

Madden also introducing a story mode as well. Surprised they never included the Frostbite engine on NHL and done the same unless that's being saved for next year

Yeah he joins another club this year apparently, not seen it but going to hazard a guess it's Real being as Ronaldo is the cover star now.

From what I've read I think its up to you if you move on or not. Likely giving the option to move overseas as I think it received some criticism last year for just being EPL clubs. Apparently can also customise the character too, although I'm guessing this extends to boots, maybe cut scene attire etc
