Can't see Leinster picking up a LBP if they perform like they did last weekend. Any other decent side will have a TBP in the bag at home against Treviso inside the first 50 minutes. In truth, Leinster didn't look close to achieving that. The passing from the breakdown and in the backline was to shoelaces or 3 foot over peoples heads and the scrum was creeking for as long as Healy and Bent were on the field.

How were Glasgow last weekend?

Most people still have Leinster down as finishing first or second this year, thought, Bandwagon.

Glasgow were very good to be honest with you. Take a looksie:

You can't do much better than stick 6 tries on the current champions away from home and despite the fact that Connacht were quite royally fecked over with injuries (at lock in particular), we still needed to be clinical, controlled and take our chances. We did all of these things and importantly the new signings blended in well - Sarto was like a pig in poop on the wing.

How was your pre-season?

On the other hand, if Leinster manage a four try win against Glasgow, people will be singing a different kettle of fish in the black tune pot.

That would be awesome for the Pro12 if that actually happened. The league would be off to a flyer.

So, the Once And Future Champions versus The Ladyboys... Headscratch

I think I'll go for a home win. The question is what surprises will the Tombola throw up.

Do we think Lancaster will make a big impact at Leinster?

I don't.

I don't think we should get too carried away about Glasgow just yet - this is going to be a tough game and if they lose it then last week's performance will be quickly forgotten!

I still think it will be a win for Glasgow but certainly not on the scale of last weekend.

Connacht didn't really get a pre season, one game and two cancellations, and their rustiness showed.

However even against a non battle hardened Connacht, that was a good performance from Glasgow.

Leinster didn't look the sharpest.

Glasgow close home win for me, but I don't expect Glasgow will look as good as they did against Connacht, nor Leinster as average as they did against treviso.

I should, of course, have caveated my prediction with "assuming Toonie doesn't do anything silly with the team selection"....

Hogg and Seymour look very sharp.

Glasgow win but maybe not with a try BP, Leinster to get zilch - can't see them finishing within 7 pts unless there's a massive improvement from last week. 9pts from Connacht and Leinster would still be a great start by Glasgow.

I know Lacey has lots of experience, but surely you'd put the WRU official on the pitch and have an SRU and IRFU on either sideline?

Re: Strauss. He has lost a lot of his dynamism as time has worn on and has been overplayed consistently season to season. Maybe he was given a couple of extra weeks to relax this summer. It can only stand him in good stead if we are trying to make sure he has a dominant season. On the other hand against the Leinster's of the world, I would prefer to have him playing.

Good to see Allan on the bench, I think he is a good loosehead and, if he stays healthy, can give Reid a go for his money.

Are Vernon and Ashe just going to stay perpetually crocked? They might as well be sent to Edinburgh like K Bryce was to get the group discount at the doctor's.

It is a rebuilding time for Leinster and, looking at the team, there are a few threats that could both us. The back 3 for Leinster is not bad but R Kearney has struggled and Glasgow in the past have tended to struggle with out and out pace (Gilroy in particular) on the wing that Leinster lack.

The pack looks nothing special on paper but Glasgow's scrum can struggle against the big boys (Tiny Tim in the second row won't be much use against monsters).

I will say Glasgow to win 34-20 with a bonus point.

Hazel, young Ashe had surgery on a foot injury but Toonie has since said he has a hip injury so will not be back before January.

The The Beard To Be Feared is scheduled to be holding Mrs Strauss's hand and exhorting, "Push, push, just one more. I can see the head" so if she was at all dilatory he might have been late for kick off on Saturday. Give it a week or two and he'll be back and as dynamic as any new father on two hours sleep.

Mr Bru, so you haven't the strength to break up M&S's big pots of pancetta and have, successfully, lobbied them to split them into two diddly portions. Laugh

The great white hope/hype.He's a kiwi who moved to Ireland at 12 and had a breakout year steering Clontarf to the UBL title.
He has huge potential, nice hands and lightening pace but his defence looked average last week so we need to see if that's a weakness.

Not for a couple of seasons yet. It's neutral TMO's for this season. The ref's having a fine game though.

It's for McQuilkin, their Kiwi coach has had to return back to New Zealand due to family issue's. They raised money for him with a 'shave or dye' event.

It's for McQuilkin, their Kiwi coach has had to return back to New Zealand due to family issue's. They raised money for him with a 'shave or dye' event.

A really nice gesture, and I'm glad it's not a new Irish fashion trend!
