A good move on the face of it. Looks like the interview process was fair and transparent.
Let's hope he forms his own opinions nand they are listened to, and acted on if necessary.

+1 to that. But to honest a quick nose on linkedin, and that article, he doesn't come across as a nodding dog, so it looks like he will want to act on his own opinions rather than other peoples.

He then played full 1st Team men's rugby in National Division 1 for London Welsh for 6 years from 2003 until 2008 and latterly for Rosslyn Park until retiring from playing the game in 2011.
I wonder will he want to dump the Italians for London Welsh? Obviously a fix by the 2 Welsh interviewers on the panel!

Why would the Irish board members do the things you accuse them off? Sin és reasoning is as based in reason as any of yours

Its more of a wanting to get rid of the Italians situations I think with the Welsh than wanting London Welsh in.
This new chappie must have a fondness for London Welsh since he played for them up to recently.
As for the transparency of the interview - all we know is that there were 2 Welshmen on the interview board compared to 1 Irish (the Provinces/IRFU were not even represented), 1 Italian and 1 Scot.

Because they are looking after their own interests.

Getting rid of the Italians won't solve the problem of the elague being garbage. It would just cut costs, and even that's debatable if the fixtures aren't filled.

Getting LW in would help his old team out and add some stability

The quality and fairness are your opinions. The Italians pay to be in the league which brings money in, that must really hurt the participating teams

It will help part of your argument. If we remove the Italians we reduce the amount of games by 4 leaving 18 league games plus 6 ERC group games which means there's more chance of seeing the top players playing every week. If they're removed and replaced then games played stays the same and that's 4 less games they'll be in.

No, he was talking about Martin Anayi who played for Welsh but then if you read the press release you'd know that

I'll explain my thought process to you again.
I posted that the new MD Martin Anayi, formerly of London Welsh was appointed by an interview board that had 2 welsh representatives, no IRFU/Provincial reps, 1 Italian and 1 Scot.
You and a few other Welsh fans claimed that it was transparent for some reason. I only see Welsh bias now. Its a disgrace that there was no representative from the IRFU or Irish Provinces on the Interview Board.
The Welsh Regions want to get rid of the Italians so I'd worry for them particularly when the former club of the new MD (London Welsh) has declared an interest in joining the Pro12.

It was the "fix by the 2 Welsh interviewers" that threw me, seeing as they have no allegience to London Welsh. Appreciate it was tongue in cheek though.
For what it's worth, I totally agree that if some of the teams are represented in the interview process, then all should. I wonder what that says about John Feehan, the CEO.

Oh and about London Welsh joining the Pro12.
It is believed that the idea for the London-based clubs joining the Pro12 has come largely from Welsh quarters, particularly after the success of the recent Judgement Day III at the Millennium Stadium, when 52,762 fans turned out to watch the four Welsh regions play.
Adding a fifth ‘Welsh’ team in the guise of London Welsh would potentially increase revenue for the regions, as well as opening up a new market in the English capital.

No interviewer to represent the interests of the Provinces and two Welsh interviewers pick an ex LW man!!! No surprise there then!!!!!!!
This interview process clearly demonstrates the fact that the PRO12 is fixed in favour of the Welsh!!

John Feehan talking about reorganising the Pro12 trying too hard to convince us he isn't being forced out as part of a coup by the Welsh too
I understand there is going to be a re-organisation at the top of the Pro12. Can you just talk me through those administrative changes?
At the moment, I run three organisations. One is the British and Irish Lions, one is the Six Nations and one is the Pro12.
We are going to appoint a new managing director of the Pro12 who will report to the board and be working under me to a large extent.
It’s envisaged in the longer term that this will be a standalone organisation and I won’t be involved. That’s very definitely my choice.

And it's so plainly obvious the reason he goes to great lengths to overstate something that wouldn't need to be said, under normal circumstances, - "That's very definitely my choice", what he is really saying is that the Welsh mafia who run the PRO12, as everyone knows, are ousting him in order to put their own man at the helm!!!

Very worrying all right that the Welsh are running the Pro12. Hopefully the Pro12 doesn't end up in the same shambles as Welsh rugby. They couldn't organisation a pissup in a brewery.

Sure it's nothing to worry about, the Irish will take him out in Temple Bar for a few sessions and within a month he'll be a season ticket holder at Leinster, have the front door key to the Guinness brewery and will be pressing for Wales to be renamed "East Ireland" and the Regions to be renamed provinces !

Interesting paragraph about Pro12.

Speaking (John Fehan] about the Pro12 [at launch]
"In terms of how we can be looked at commercially, to give you an idea there were more eyeballs on our final throughout Britain and Ireland than watched the Premiership final.
