BJ Saunders vs Eubank Jr

The sound quality isn't the best but i didn't realise Eubank Jr is having a fight 4 weeks before he fights BJ Saunders, I've got a feeling it won't go ahead now........

I heard about this but i just assumed he would have pulled out of the fight at york hall

I have a sneaky feeling of an upset in this fight. Think Billy Joe has put immense pressure on himself and think it could back fire.

Ive never found Saunders as good as he gets made out. I thought Ryder was good for a draw against him. I think Eubank could well beat him although his lck of competition so far means Sauders will have an edge in experience. Still fancy Eubank to win though.

Saunders a big fav with the bookies too so worth throwing a bit of coin at eubank

I'm slightly baffled as to why Eubank is the unpopular one of the two. Saunders's outburst to the British Elie Seckbach was atrocious - rambling homophobic nonsense.

I hope Eubank puts him on his backside (and I fancy him to do just that). If he gets through Saturday unscathed I might lump on him now before the odds narrow.

I think people are turned off by anyone who talks before they can walk.

He beats a load of undersized, handicapped bin men with no pedigree and is then declared the best of the modern era bar Ward. And people think GGG fans are jumping the gun

It's his father who's done most of his talking to be fair. Junior seems a gentleman from what I've seen of him.

Yeah and that irritates people. Also the contempt he shows overmatched opponents is often Broner reminiscent. Neither of them are immensely likeable. Personally I prefer BJJ for putting the fighting first and actually having challenged himself thus far.

Does he not grate on you? I find him irritating whereas the Eubank shtick seems obvious pantomime.

I feel like he should annoy me more than he does, but maybe because the motivation for his vitriol is Eubank Jr's apparent awkwardness in making the fight, something about boxing that we all find annoying.

I think he grates because he's so obviously copying his Dad and we've seen it all before.....

May grate less If he steps up and beats Saunders..Which will give him a reason to look cocky..

I was hoping for better odds on Eubank. Tough fight to call, Saunders has quality but lacks power and stamina...Eubank who knows. Im leaning towards Eubank, they must fancy this, Saunders is hardly a big name

Saunders seems to be over confident, where Eubank being more mature about it, even though he is a bit of a nob...

On that bases I would favor Eubank..

Great fight this, it's exactly the what the fans needed to determine how good Eubank is.

I give credit to both of them for making the fight. It's a fight that could easily have been avoided. No highly rated prospect wants to lose to a domestic rival early on in their career, especially these days, with all the hype and that. It harmed Degale, and it will harm the loser of this fight if they are not skillfully managed afterwards.

I think Degale fell in with in with a pretty crap promoter which harmed him more than losing to Groves.

I much prefer seeing these sort of fights happen earlier domestically rather than plotting seperate courses to various versions of world titles.

There's nothing stopping an intriguing grudgematch-unification-rematch down the line.

I don't like BJS, he just comes across as a complete d*ck so I'm hoping Jr can beat him. It's a tough one as although I don't rate Saunders that highly I have to concede any faith I have in Eubank Jr is based on nothing at all really.

BJS recent rants have been nothing short of disgraceful though so as far as I'm concerned I'd rather support the guy that seems a bit of a socially awkward prat than the one that seems like a socially ignorant pr*ck.

I can't wait for this one! BJS has put so much pressure on himself, he may have to move abroad if he loses this. I think Eubank takes it. When he unloads he looks handy. I just worry a bit abot his defence and inactivity during rounds. BJS is decent, but no world beater IMO. Going for Eubank.

I think if either of these two has real stamina issues, though we're yet to see it tested, it's Eubank. Guns like he has need a lot of oxygen, hence the low punch output. Saunders will definately make him work the entire rounds, and he could fade late on. Just one theory

Another press conference, another Eubank no-show. Frank looks close to exploding.

Not sure who I want to win this one. BJS is a massive man sausage and Eubank is trying to hard to be like his dad. He doesn't have the talent or personality to emulate him.

I want Eubank to win, but he is seriously testing peoples patience with these no-shows. I think it is down to his dad, who by all accounts is a controlling influence. Just not fair on Warren really. He has put on a very good card, the least Eubank can do is help promote the fight. Will still be a good fight, but may not reach the audience it deserves as people are going to worry if it will go ahead.

Can't see it going 12.................Eubank has a dig and is likely to win by stoppage If anything and If he doesn't stop him he's never been past 8...

Does anyone have a sneaky suspicion this fight may not happen? Don't want to tempt fate but the Eubanks are acting awful shifty!

A lot of trade insiders are adamant the fight doesn't happen.

I can see something "cropping up" in a week or two, Eubank Jnr originally wanted this fight two or three fights later, there's nothing to suggest he's ready...

Would love to see this happen still but doubtful I am!

I think that's top class from Eubank. There's too much rubbish at press conferences these days.

How can it be top class.......You have to be professional and sell the fight....

Journalists and photographers have all turned up and it's part and parcel of the promotion...

Eubank sr is going to end up ruining his kid's career...........If he does lose this fight I can't see Warren touching him again and will Hearn want the aggravation..

Kid will end up a leper...........

You could say he is selling the fight, the fact he's not showing has generate more talk on the fight than if he'd shown up answered a few questions and then onto the next press conference. Now do I think its advisable to do it for all fights no but as a tactic to get people talking about what would have just been a run of the mill press conference it's certainly worked.

Why turn up to a presser when the other guy has publicly stated he'll try to slap you? That could scupper the fight completely and would continue to drag the sport through the gutter (music to Warren's ears of course, hence his ire).

He'll be fine once he deals with Saunders (which I'm confident he will).

Because it's professional and you have an obligation to sell the fight...

As for the generating more talk comment above.........He's only generating it with the converted....

The idea is to pull others in..Why should journalists who go to press conferences offer up ink when one of the fighters can't even be bothered..........

You do have to worry about what influence Snr has. I dearly loved him as a fighter, but lets be honest he is a bit of an oddball. Not sure he is intellectually the best pick as an advisor. Also snr loves the limelight, you do get the impression on occasion he is trying to have his career vicariously through his son. All that posturing, standing in front of his son during a fight is just ridiculous. The middle of a fight is not a time for his pavonine strutting.

Why not, he made a damn fine career out of it and, let's be honest, if Eubank Jr didn't have the surname he has, his boxing alone wouldn't bring him to the attention of the masses. He should be grateful for every bit of help he gets.
