What has happened to see such a drop in share price?

Basically everybody including WWE expected the WWE Network to be a huge success, which it hasn't been and they expected the TV deals to be double what they had got before, which it wasn't. (Almost definitely because of the Network)

As such the stocks have dramatically dropped, although they are still at the same level they were last year so think it could possibly be exaggerated. It's just shocking how quickly it has fallen.

So expect the Network prices to go up and by the time it comes to us it'll be about £25 a month?

Their massive error is making the PPV's free to air on the network.

What they may well end up doing will be a 'package' style membership, maybe something like this;

$15 gets you the catalogue and weekly shows
$20 gets the catalogue, weekly shows and PPV's excluding the rumble & wrestlemania.
$25 all of the above plus Royal Rumble & Wrestlemania

That seems to be the ideal way for them to make money but also at the same time encourage people to sign up.

Im amazed so little people have signed up for the network. For that price I'll definatly sub when it lands here.

They had to stick the PPVs on the network - there is really nothing else to sell the product. Old footage and NXT are not going to sell at $9.99 a month except to WWE fanatics.

I really enjoy using the network, I've started watching all the PPVs from WM3 - it's weird now watching something from a different angle than as a kid. Would I pay more than the £6 or whatever it is now for that alone. No.

I probably won't buy it when it comes here as the swines have blocked my account.

Why have they done that Dolph?
I really like the Network, but if it was anything over £10 a month I don't think I'd subscribe.
More people need to sign up!!

I think its that, or my VPN isnt/hasnt worked. The swines also charge me twice every month so I have to do a dispute every month to get money back

I'd be happy to pay £25 a month. Thats all your PPV's, plus a tenner for unlimited access to literally tens of thousands of hours of a back catalogue, and stuff you can only get on the network, like NXT. More than fair if you ask me.

Stock was overvalued originally and hit a bubble around the time of the Network.

WWE has not hit its own self-reported break even number of subscribers for the Network + has no idea how many will renew come September time. Therefore its current number of 700k, which needs to hit 1m for b-e is still well short of the c. 1.4m that WWE requires. The International market isn't expected to have a huge impact as the US is the primary market where consumers have demonstrated a willingness to spend a significant sum every month for PPV's

DirecTV dropped WWE PPV's due to the Network - how will others react?

WWE reported that a $1bn TV deal at many multiples of the current deal was anticipated. This was priced into the stock value and in the end *only* 25% increase with the ame provider was reached suggesting popularity for it isn't as big as originally predicted

A number of corporate shareholders are extremely angry with the board and believe that the market has been misled

They actually said 1m subscribers as a low target to try and impress investors and they failed to get it.

Worrying really.

If they want more people to subscribe to the WWE Network, then they need to hurry the f*ck up and introduce it to the UK!!!!!
