I was watching the fight with a couple of mates who don't watch wrestling and when the crowd started cheering for George Groves and booing everything Carl Froch was saying I said aloud "They've done a double turn!" and my mates looked at me like "Huh?"

Going into the fight George Groves was portraying the heel, having run his mouth about Carl Froch, and Froch was portrayed as the tough, no-nonsense babyface who was going to shut up the cocky youngster.

In the fight itself, Groves knocked down Froch in the first round and proceeded to dominate most of the fight, flying in the face of some predictions that Groves wasn't cut out for World title level.

In the 9th round Froch started landing some heavy shots and the referee jumped in and stopped the fight, prematurely in the opinion of the majority. Fans in attendance booed the decision, feeling the fight was stopped too early.

In the post fight, Groves was cheered as he walked around the ring and Froch was booed as he celebrated (though it wasn't his fault the fight was stopped "early").

Then in the post fight interviews the crowd booed everything Carl Froch said - apart from when he said he was willing to give Groves a rematch - and cheered everything Groves said.

Hence the double turn Smile

I wasn't Froch's biggest fan but I wanted him to beat Groves. However, the way Froch has acted since the fight means I'd be pulling for Groves if there were to be a rematch.

Was very reminiscent of a WWE crowd and the double turn worked perfectly.
