Del Potro medical condition update Empty Del Potro medical condition update

Post by invisiblecoolers Fri 17 May 2013, 11:52 pm

As we all suspected Del Po's medical condition and fitness has become a serious issue once again now.

According to ATPworldtour.com's report he has suffered a decline in 'physical and respiratory capacity' due to the rest taken to recover from a bronchial spasm, according to his camp. A bronchial spasm is a sudden constriction of the muscles in the walls of the bronchioles.

Now Del Potro's doctor recommended that he return to Argentina for further medical treatment to speed his recovery. There was no comment on the likelihood of him returning to Europe to compete at Roland Garros, which begins Sunday, 26 May.

This would be a real bad blow if he doesn't turn up for FO, we already have doubts casted over Murray's participation in FO and now this. Life is tough for pro tennis players. furious

been a big fan for a while now, I still believe he has more slams in him but he keeps getting tripped up, its frustrating for the guy. Federer doesn't say many players could be Number 1, high praise indeed

Too bad. I like the guy. He could have been a good addition to the mix near the top had he not been plagued with health issues.

It's really sad to hear this about DelPo. He looks like he's getting somewhere and then some unfortunate condition strikes again. Maybe he's just going to be one of these players who through no fault of his own underachieves because of external factors. I sincerely hope not and hope to see him back to full fitness.
