To all of Omar's loyal fans and friends today Omar has made peace with our savior God and joined him in heaven. Thank you all for your prayers and support. And please let's continue the name Omar Henry because that's what he would want

Henry was hospitalized for gall stones in mid-November - He had Stage 4 gall bladder cancer - his walking around weight dropped from 170 to 130 lb

To be honest with you this was coming, Henry was fighting this for a long time, Dr's said it wasn't looking all that good for him, only last week he was confident he was going to make it back into the ring, hopefully he went in peace - they say only the good die young, 25 - that is so very young.

Sad news. Lost his life to gallbladder cancer at the age of 25. Looked at top prospect, shame.

I posted an article about him a while back after seeing him for the first time on youtube.

This has shocked me I must say. He looked like a real prospect but he had some ring inactivity which I thought was down to his decision to turn to MMA.

Omar Henry fell one week short of seeing his 26th birthday when passing away on February 1.

His birthday – February 8, which comes this Friday – will now serve as a homecoming, as the one-time promising prospect will be laid to rest in his city of birth in Chicago.

Relatives of Henry have made preparations for his final sendoff to take place this Friday at the Apostolic Church of Chicago
