Rocked by the departure of manager BrahmaBull Dortmund fell to another defeat but not before a battle with a Spurs side still disappointed at having to dell Lionel Messi. Replacement Franck Ribery banished some of that disappointment with the opening goal. Dortmund equalised through Lewandowski but had barely finished celebrating before Higuain notched Spurs' second and ultimately winning goal. Still no joy for the German club.

Real Madrid 1 - 0 Chelsea

Even with 4 first teamers out Madrid are still a formidable side. Chelsea have made some good signing especially David Silva but today they fell just short as the home side edged a tight match through a typical Yaya Toure strike midway through the second half. Chelsea plugged away but could not pierce the Real defence.

Arsenal 1 - 1 Manchester City

Arsenal have made a number of changes following injuries to key players. It gave Pedro Rodriguez an opportunity to start in a central role behind the striker. He shone and was an ever present danger to the City defence, indeed he gave the home side the lead on the half hour. Arsenal continued to have the better of things as their midfield won the territorial battle but they failed to add to their lead and allowed City to get back into the match. Eventually they equalised after a fast break involving Robben and Rooney who picked out Torres for a calm finish. Honours even but frustration for the home side.

Man Utd 1 - 1 Barcelona

Messi against his old side who had Ronaldo. Never likely to be dull and sure enough it wasn't. Utd set out to frustrate Barca with 3 highly experienced centre halves and Cambiasso protecting in front. Barca dominated possession as you would expect but they struggled to find clear openings. Utd had a lot of defending to do but always had an out ball in Messi to relieve pressure. Despite that it was Barcelona who took the leaf on the stroke of half time through Ronaldo upon his return to Old Trafford. Utd looked to be heading for defeat until Messi picked up a clearance and worked his magic to draw his side level. A satisfying day for the Utd manager.

Borussia Dortmund 1 - 2 Tottenham

Dortmund were left reeling after the ref gave Spurs a very poor penalty after a clear dive by Ribery. Modric stepped up and cooly placed it home for the eventual winner. Earlier Hazard and Goetze combined and Hazard slotted home the winner. Higuain equalised when Navas planted a great cross for the Argentinian and he headed home.

Madrid narrowly won this tight game. A slow start from the home side and Chelsea capitalised with Cabaye's long range strike. Chelsea didnt seem push forward and that was their downfall as Madrid's full-bakc spushed on and Marcelo equalised after some nifty footwork. Tevez scored the winner late second half when he found space and curled low and hard.

Sneijder -------------- Muller

Honours even in this close game. Both teams played for a win but had to settle for a draw from the 1st to last minutes. Sneijder with an audacious chip to score the opener and also hit the bar from long range but Inter came into the match and deserved the equaliser with Muller's neat finish. not many further chances came about after that.

Utd started this game cautiously and that stifled Barcelona's attack. Barca committed more players forward and that gave Utd more space to counter and it ws Messi that ran past Puyol and squared it to Benzema and he tapped home in an emtpy net. Barca were not rattled and continued to play their game and that paid off with Iniesta finding Villa who slotted past the keeper. Barca now were rampant and should have scored the winner after Villa was tripped but the linesman played on.

Borussia Dortmund 1 - 1 Tottenham

Dortmund played extremely well for a point in this match. Hazard had scored for the home side in the first half as he raced onto Goetze's ball to slot home the goal. Higuain equalised for spurs in the second half as his low shot found its way into the net via a deflection. dortmund then went defensive and settled for a point, frustrating tottenham.

Madrid got the winner late on in a very even match. the home side got the first goal through neymar as the brazilian showed his skill by taking on two defenders and hitting a low shot into the far corner of the net. chelsea equalised soon after, against the run of play by cabaye's shot from the edge of the box but it was carlos tevez who won the game for madrid, scoring from a good cross.

Arsenal had to settle for a point against a man city. city have a formidable attack and scored the firsdt goal as gerrard crossed for rooney to head home in the top corner. the home side started seeing the ball a bit more as city were left open at the back with not much cover from midfield. arsenal took advantage of that and scored through robin van persie.


Man Utd 1 - 1 Barcelona

United held barca for a draw at Old Trafford. the home side lined up very defensively and it paid off for the first 25 mins as barca could not find a clear opening. it was the home side who got the first goal through cazorla as he tricked his way past gibbs on a counter to smash home. barca then showed some urgency and got their goal on the stroke of half-time through david villa.

I not feeling creative today so I'm gonna opt for areas of improvement

Real : As much as everyone raves about Pirlo, a top two side should maybe have a better playmaker in there. Also a world class wingers
