The earlist inter-club game
The oldest club is a contentious subject with Blackheath, Guys Hospital, Edinburgh, Trinity College etc.
But what is the oldest reported game between two sides using an agreed set of laws?

1843 - The first official club, Guy's Hospital Rugby Club (London, England), formed.
1863 - The first recorded club game - Richmond Vs Blackheath - played in London
1870 - First rugby game in New Zealand
1871 - Rugby Football Union (RFU) was formed. This led to a consistent set of rules for all clubs that played a version of football under the Rugby School laws.
1871 - first International Rugby match was played.
1873 - Scottish Football Union established

Oldest existing Rugby club in the World: Dublin City University(Trinity) - 1855. Played rugby on College Green before club formation, in the 1780's.
No record of their 1st game under fixed rules. Just an addition to the thread.

482 BC - First Irish arrow invented made of calfskin.
You could throw it accurately enough but it didn't kill enough - so they used it for rugby instead. The following year they invented the 50 Calibre Barrett M95 Sniper Rifle to give to their bowmen.
