Newcastle look a bit slow but were effective. Sale look good though.
Anyone know what the pool stages for the final look like?
It would be nice to avoid Quins. Wouldn't mind Wasps or Newcastle. They'll do!

Aye the Tigers took their usual hiding. Good to see a couple of youngsters stepping up. Lewington looked composed, Rolston did excellently considering he's a trialist and is a student not even semi pro and El Mahdi looked like he could be a top winger in a couple of years.
Shame we didn't take it seriously we'll never win a game with our squad of 16 to 20 year olds whilst other teams include first teamers. Don't mention Robinson he was cack and I'd prefer we played the youngsters to that donkey.
Quinns vs Sarries in the final?

Sam why don't you take the competition seriously? Is there any point taking part if you are going to lose heavily?
Saracens have Sale and Bath in their pool. If we pick a good enough side we should dispatch both.
Short and Wyles made a huge impact at FG - 5 and 4 tries respectively.
I think Quins will probably win but it all depends on what the teams are.

It clashes with Tigers pre season camp in France and so Cockerill refuses to change his pre season plans (France for a fortnight and couple of games before back to blighty for one or two) and so sends the academy. Good chance to have a look at the finer points of some of the academy and trialists. The coaches will have learnt quite a bit about the academy players one on one tackling and decision making against AP Level players. Some players El Mahdi for instance showed he had the pace and foot work to be a pain but also that his tackling was very good, others like young Steele the scrummie showed that they weren't ready for the step up. Conquest and Robinson were probabley there because they weren't deemed good enough for the France trip.
Shame we didn't take it seriously and de Carpienter, Young, Tait would have all been able to show off their sevens pedigree.

Fair play if you can work out some information about your players even if it involves being beaten badly.
I am sure South Africa are finding the same about their players getting smashed by the Aussies and New Zealanders. I am joking I honestly don't know if it's good for player morale.
Shame you didn't take it seriously. I know you'll take the AP and HC very seriously though.

Re: Premiership 7s on ITV4 at the moment
Oh Tigers will be taking the AP and the HEC very seriously, looking to win both (standard). The Low Value Cup will be another outing for the academy though, help them prepare for the step up the first team. A lot of them already appear regularly in the A League or have been/will be going on loan to Nottingham.
Still could be 12 players down during the RWC phase will have to see who else makes the cut, the maybes are still Mafi, Murphy and Manu but I expect two of those three will go and the rest are fairly nailed on. So it's important the first team concentrate on the 15 man game and don't take risks on the injury front.
